i have a 1974 standard volkswagen beetle and i would like to switch it to an automatic how much would it cost to switch it its a 4 cylinder is it hard to switch?

Q: Does anyone own a used Volkswagen Beetle?
I’m thinking about purchasing a used Volkswagen Beetle in the near future. I just want to know if anyone owns this type of vehicle and what is your overall opinion about this type of car (e.g. maintenance issues, engine, etc). This is my first time buying a car, and I would really appreciate some helpful feedback. Thanks.
A used 2000 VB.
A: I’m going to let you in on a little advise that my son did NOT listen too.
The fuel line running from the fuel pump to the carb is made of rubber (on most, if not all the older models – mine was a 1969 VW ). Well that hose gets hard because of the heat in the engine compartment. Once it gets hard it starts to crack…once it cracks it starts to leak fuel. That fuel ends up getting onto the hot engine parts and before long you have a fire. Those fuel lines are cheap. I suggest you buy 3 foot of it and keep in the trunk….that way you can change it out every 6 months as I did to be on the safe side. My son didn’t…so within the first year I gave it to him…he caught it on fire and blew it up.
The cars are easy to work on and are loads of fun to drive…and very cheap on gas. There are hundreds of ways to modify them with all kinds of cool stuff. So have fun and be safe.
Q: Did Hitler has something to do with the make Volkswagen Beetle?
I vaguely remember reading about Hitler using the term Peoples car ie Volkswagen is it true did he have something to do with the Beetle?
A: Sitting at a restaurant table in Munich in the summer of 1932, Hitler designed the prototype for what would become the immensely successful Beetle design for Volkswagen (literally, the “car of the people”). In an era where only the most economic elite possessed cars, Hitler believed that all people should be able to own a car and additionally thought that a smart design could allow for reliability, enjoyment, and vacation travel. The name given to the car in 1938 was Kraft durch Freude (KdF-Wagen, literally “strength through joy car”).
Seems like a different idea from a man with the background and the eventual horrific stamp on history he had.
Q: Where can I find a 1963 rag-top Volkswagen beetle?
I get my driver’s permit soon, and I’m looking for a 1963 rag-top Volkswagen beetle so that I can have it painted like “Herbie”. My maximum price is $3,500. Do you know where I can find one?
A: Hemmings.com maybe.
Q: What year Volkswagen beetle in the new commercials….?
What year is the OLD volkswagen beetle that is being used in the new VW commercials?
A: 1964. It says so in the article mentioned as my source. But even without stumbling across that article, I was able to narrow it down to 1964-1965.
Guys, look at the body style of the bug. It has the old-school streamlined shape of the first generation pre-1968 bugs, complete with the older style headlights, small turnsignals on top of each fender, and all-chrome bumpers complete with “cow catchers”(the chrome parts that protruded over the top of the main chrome bumper). The fact that the front hood lacks a Wolfsburg castle logo means that it has to be post-1963. So those two things alone have already narrowed down the age to 1964-1967. However, look at the bug’s wheels…the styles of them are distinctly pre-1966. In 1966, the hubcaps were all chrome and had vents/slits around them, which the black bug in the commercial does not have on “his” wheels. So it had to be either 1964 or 1965. The article states that it is a fully restored 1964.
Q: What does P0101 code mean for a Volkswagen Beetle?
I have a 2006 Volkswagen Convertible Beetle and my check engine light turned on. I went to Schucks so they can tell me what the problem is, and this is what they said: Code P0101 Mass or Volume Air Flow, Circuit Range/Performance…..but they don’t know what it is and where the problem is….?? Does anyone have any idea where I can find out what this is and how I can fix it?? Thanks a bunch!!!
A: That is the trouble code for the Mass Air Flow Sensor on your VW Beetle. Try calling or visiting your local VW dealship. It may cost you more money to fix it, but they are familiar with VWs. Obviously, lol.
Q: Does the 2000 Volkswagen Beetle Bug, have a CD player in it, or just tape?
I am getting a 2000 Volkswagen Beetle bug in about a week, and I was wondering if they had a CD player in it, or just tape? From what I saw when I looked through the car window, was a tape player, which is still fine, cause I have a tape adapter for my Zune and iPod, and an FM wireless transmitter for it too!
PS: I am SO Excited… PSS? I am only 17 1/2
A: Some of them only have the tape deck. Others have the disc changer in the back. Some even have an in dash cd.
Q: What is the most a volkswagen beetle?
how much could a volkswagen beetle convertible go for?
money;; cost wise(:
thanks,<3.
A: It starts at $25,990
Q: Could someone make the volkswagen beetle today?
If someone wanted to manufacture a car that was identical to a volkswagen beetle, today, could they? Don’t patents run out after a certain time? Or does Volkswagen still have the right to that design somehow? If you wanted to make something almost identical how close could you get? I am just curious how this works.
Canadian bacon, sorry.. I forgot about that.. I was thinking of the old designs.
Let’s say it was something else.. like an old bicycle.. something that didn’t have safety constraints. Could you copy it then? Let’s say it was an old TV design. Or an old refigerator.. etc.. etc.. but soemthing distinctive. Could you manufacture it identically and sell it? Or do companies always have the rights to the design?
So hyothetically.. let’s say there weren’t design constraints for safety of the old volkswagon beetle.. could you manufacture it identically and sell it but under a different name? So call it the HarisonFjord Armadillo.. haha You get the idea..
A: Companies will go to any length to prevent someone infringing on a patient or even a trade mark.
These examples may answer your VW question.
A few years ago, counterfeit Levi Strauss Jeans were being produced in Europe. Levi had to layoff almost 50 percent of the US work force. Sales of Levis dropped 90 percent in Europe.
Levi sent a team to Europe and Asia to take care of business.
All companies have Legal teams and world wide associates to handle patient infringements and trade mark disputes.
A company in China was producing Counterfeit or Knock off windshields for Toyotas….exact, right Down to the etched name Toyota. So, Toyota went through its China contacts and took care of business.
Now, you could produce a VW in your garage as a hobby or a craft. But, If you tried to sell or trade that Item for an exchange of Goods. I can assure you that the complete VW Team would be at your door.
Can you imagine the market for a Classic Corvette or Mustang?
Q: how to put a 350 into a volkswagen beetle 1965-1970?
I want to build a Volkswagen Beetle 1965-1970 model with a small block 350. I’ve seen pictures of VW’s with the 350 but want to know how to make one my self.
A: THere was one on Ebay some years ago. Very professional job. Looked like they really beefed the car up in the front and rear. Wider wheels on the rear. THe radiator was put in the rear hood area. Engine in the front. I would try doing some google searches on Beetle V8 conversions and you may come up with quite a few ideas.
Q: I need to buy a new coil for my Volkswagen Beetle…which kind should I get?
I need a new coil for my ‘70 Volkswagen Beetle, the spark is barely even orange. Are there any specific brands or specifications that I should be looking for when buying one, or will any standard coil do fine? Which ones last the longest and are the most dependable, or all they all pretty much the same? Is this something I can afford to skimp on– or should I go for the mac daddy?
A: I have a 66 beetle and a 73 Super beetle and anytime ive had to change the coil on them I always go Bosch. In my personal opinion Bosch is the highest quality for a VW beetle.
