Q: can you put another turbo on a 87 toyota supra turbo?
i have a 1987 toyota supra with turbo i was wondering if you can put another one on it?
A: Of course you can put another one on, but it would be a waste of money. You can make the same power and boost with a bigger single turbo, and in this case with less work, than trying to put a second turbo flange and a 2nd turbo on this one. With the supra being an inline 6 engine, all of the cylinders exit into 1 manifold, so it’s just more sensible to run 1 turbo. The piping is more simple, the installation is cleaner, there’s less to break, less to go wrong, easier to troubleshoot, etc. Now, if all you’re after is more power, just get a bigger turbo, but be advised that an 87 supra turbo isn’t made for big power.
Q: Will 1994 non turbo Toyota supra coil springs fit a 1998 vvti Japanese import Toyota supra?
Hey guys wonder if any of you guys know the answer, my 1998 Toyota supra vvti Japanese spec supra needs new coil over springs for the suspension I am wondering are 1994 united kingdom spec non turbo supra coil over springs compatible as I believe some other parts are. The coil over springs are Yamaha (rar) suspension. And I am looking for a cost effective solution.
A: Call your autowrecker or toyota dealer for an answer
Turbo or non has little and usually nothing to do with suspension
They just ask you that to complicate and confuse you so you think it does
Q: Difference between Toyota Supra and Toyota Supra Turbo?
I know nothing when it comes to dealing with cars but i’m looking to buy a Supra. I know that a Supra with turbo is obviously going to be faster than a non-turbo but is there that much of a difference? Are the non-turbo’s just as good?
A: I’ve just bought a 1993 non-turbo Supra and its awesome, I love it so much, its by far the best car i’ve ever had.
Originally I wanted a turbo one but as the non turbo was a third of the price, I decided to get that so I could see if I liked the Supra in general for comfort & handling etc then if I liked it I was going to sell it and get a turbo. But I have found the non turbo is fast, heaps lighter than the 3000GT I nearly bought and handles better than any car i’ve driven, so I will stick with the non turbo. Also I dont have the worry of turbo problems, esp as the Supras are getting old now, and I can spend the extra money on more go-fast bits for it.
The other thing is that with the Supras, speed is only one of their attractions. I dont know if you’ve driven one or not but theyre quite luxurious, built like tanks, super reliable with very strong engines, handle like theyre on rails and have one of the best dash boards of any car (under $100k apparently). The quality of them is really up there for a jap car.
I havent driven the turbo model so I cant compare them sorry but the links below have comparisons & opinions.

Good luck
PS definitely get a Supra theyre awesome and dont let anyone talk you out of it.
Q: Toyota Supra Turbo 1988 Transmission can’t take it out?
I have a Toyota Supra turbo 1988 manual. I’m trying to rebuilt the whole engine and transmission but i can’t seem to remove the transmission from the engine. I have taken out the engine with the transmission together and I have remove all the bolt around the transmission by the engine and the clutches but the transmission wouldn’t come off is there still something holding it or is there something else to it. Please help, thanks.
A: Lower the engine/tranny combo closer to the ground if it’s still hanging on your picker. Pop off the tranny bolts and store them away. Check engagement of the fork/ through the “windows” + pull it out if you haven’t. Through the service window, turn the crank pully slowly and undo the bolts to release the tension. Slide the clutch cover + disc forward from the flywheel, prep the remove the tranny. Get a rubber mallet plus something like a large prybar and “tap” each side to slowly pry the tranny away from the engine. Get a good gap and you can use the rubber mallet to pop the tranny off the engine, voila.
Q: if i buy i non turbo toyota supra can i change the engine to a twin turbo???
i have always wanted a toyota supra.i just recently started looking into them and i was wondering if it is possible to buy a 1993-1997 toyota supra (non-turbo) and totaly rebuild it with a twin-turbo engine.
if not eny suggestions?? and if i was going to race is a supra the best car for a drag race?
A: Yes, you can add aftermarket turbos. I don’t know that much about the Supra specifically so I can’t tell you where to look to get one, but a turbo is not something that needs to come with the engine.
Q: Which engine oil to use for toyota supra turbo 1988 193k miles?
Which engine oil to use for toyota supra turbo 1988 193k miles 10w30 or 5w30 or others….synthetic full or blend or neither.?
A: Took me a min to answer because I had to go look at the Royal Purple synthetic blend bottle I had to make sure I answered your inquiry right. 10W30 viscosity. The prob with full synth is that most cars back then didn’t start out with it. Since yours is a high mileage car (my ‘91 has 88k) you never know what the previous owners were using, and you really want to stick to whatever the car is used to.
I mean it’s not dyer, you can switch but it’s best to stick to one type. RP has worked great for me since five years ago.
Q: How much would a Toyota supra, turbo cost?
It Runs great and it it is in good condition. I am not sure how many miles but it runs great. I am planning to buy it from a neighbor.
A: check out what people are asking for these cars on EBay. Last I checked, they’re going for around $29k, if it is the last body style, they are highly sought after.
Q: where is the blow off valve on an 89 toyota supra turbo?
where is the blow off valve on an 89 toyota supra turbo?
A: There isn’t a blow off valve. If it has anything, it might have a bypass valve. Look for something that looks similar to a blow off valve with the vent tube plumbed back into the intake somewhere.
Q: What is the best way to mod a stock 1990 toyota supra turbo?
I just got my hands on a stock one of these sweet rides and all needs is a little paint job and some modding. Any suggestions?
A: Yes, go to this site and get a real engine for it, one with a back bone. http://www.corvette-engines.com/
The modifications won’t be easy but you will double the performance.
Q: What should I pay for a 1991 Toyota Supra Turbo with 99,000 miles on it?

Q: Is a small exhaust leak on my 1989 toyota supra turbo causing me less boost/torque?
I just got a 89 supra turbo and replaced the factory turbo, but the car lacks a little power. It needs a bit of a tune up. believe me, but I think most of the power loss is from a small exhaust leak near the downpipe/manifold area. I bolted those gaskets down like a mother f***** so I think the leak is coming from elsewhere like a faulty, rusted out weld near the cat or something. If you can help me out, that would be sweet!!! k thanks!!
A: Dear Klondike-
The exhaust leak will cause a boost loss in the system. But over-tigntening gaskets can be just as harmful if they deform and leave an open leak area between the two sealing points.
Get your exhaust leak fixed, and purchase a new set of gaskets. Then follow the manufacturer’s Torque Specs for the proper tightening procedures.
If you over tighten them there is a possibility your can also warp the mounting surfaces for the gaskets and or the Turbo Charger. Then you are going to be into a real bill for parts and labor. Especially if you damage the Turbo Charger. Those baby’s are about $1200.00 bucks re-built, and close to $2000.00 new.
Toyota does not build their Turbo Chargers, they subcontract to Garrett. Those are big dollar turbos.
You might want to consider that before getting the pipe extension for your wrench!
He He He!
After the turbo-charger can be an issue to, as some of the waste gate systems have a pressure monitor tube that will open the gate at a specific amount of exhaust pressure.
But I don’t know if your car is equipped with such a device. It could be computer controlled, and if it is there is a sensor inthe system that monitors Intake Pressure, this may be a MAP Sensor Issue too.
Anyhow, I hope I was able to help you out!
