Does anyone know the Hp/Kw output of a Toyota Celica 2.0lt turbo engine? Is it 16 valve and twin cam? I tried looking for specs on the net, but nothing! Thanks
A: the toyota celica 2.0 turbo (all-trac) has a 3S-GTE motor, a 16v that pumps out 180hp the 91 and 92 hits 200 hp. i worked on a couple. verry nice motor. just a fiew tweaks here and there and it is a quick ass car! ……… and dont listen to the other guy. i love my country with all my heart but we make some sad cars. i mean come on, the new shit-stain (aka mustang) V8 only has 300 hp and the V6 has 210 hp and 240ft lbs of torque thats sad. REAL SAD!! the subaru WRX STI has 300 hp AND 300ft lbs. of torque! and its a inline 4 with a tiny turbo. and its not all about the power, it IS all about the precision that puts the power to work…………. By the way, if you slap a cold air intake and new turbo manifold with exhaust on a celica 2.0 turbo, it would rape a mustang V8 in the poop chute!

I just recently purchased a 2000 toyota celica and don’t know everything about it yet. Does if have a trunk popper inside the car i can’t find it. I know you can open it from the handle under the trunk lid but i figured it would have a popper on the inside as well. Also i just bought an alarm for it with a trunk popper button but was told it won’t work, why? Its it because its a hatchback?
A: I’m guessing that the remote trunk release button on the alarm fob won’t work because the car does not have an automatic trunk release mechanism. And that’s also why you can’t find a lever for it in the car, because there isn’t one.

A: I have a 2002 with TONS of miles and lots of life left in it. Plenty fast, considering 30 + MPG, and I don’t NEED to drive it hard.
I think it LOOKS great, but reliability makes me want to keep it a few more years, beyond all else.

What would be the horsepower and the maximum top speed. It has 160 mph on the dash but it’s been tested to hit 135mph but no more because of the governor on the engine. It’s horsepower is 180. How much increase in horsepower and top speed am I looking at if I buy a supercharger for the 2000 Toyota Celica GT-S?
A: That’s similar to a RSX type S. And on a RSX type S I think if super charged/ turbo’d it can reach up to 290 Horse power.

I am interested in a 1992 toyota celica gts and am wondering what some knowledgeable people in them think. It has 145000 miles and in very good condition for the age. I can get it for 3600 and am wondering if thats a good deal. Is the car even worth it?
A: If it really is in VERY good condition, that’s not a bad deal. I’d offer 3 grand if he’s asking 3600.
Most Celicas of that age aren’t in good enough condition to command that price, though.

I bought a 1997 toyota celica not that long ago but i couldnt tell what trim it was like a ST or GT. The owner didnt know anything at all. So my question is how can i tell from details from the car if it is a ST or GT? Also how could i tell if it is a coupe or liftback? i couldn’t get anything out of the manual.
A: Give your VIN to a Toyota dealer and they can tell you all kinds of stuff about the car.
If your Celica has a 1.8L engine, it’s an ST and if it’s a 2.2L, it’s a GT.
On a liftback model, the rear glass raises when you pop the trunk. The back glass is close to the size of the windshield. A coupe’s back glass is shorter and does not move when you open the trunk. Only a conventional decklid opens when you pop the trunk.

A: The fuel pump is bad, had the same problem.
Fix it then dive to a Chevy dealer and trade it in.

I’m thinking about buying a used manual toyota celica, but i think it needs a new engine. How much would this usually cost? It’s a 1996 if that effects anything.
A: You should be able to buy remanufactured engines directly from Toyota dealers. Expensive! Or you can go to a salvage yard and buy a used, or wrecked car with engine and transmission for around $1000 plus labor.The number of miles on the car will affect the price significantly. Be sure you get the same type of engine/transmission from the salvage car as your Celica manual.

If not try a used car lot that’s been in business for years, there are many, and must have a pretty good record to still be in business, I’m sure they would give you a good deal, and the credit or lack of would not be a problem . Everyone has to start somewhere

I have a 1984 Toyota Celica that runs good right now, but I’d like to add some power to the little 4-banger engine. This car has a 22-RE, EFI. I would like to tune it up buying the least amount of parts as possible, but able to give it maximum power without buying the parts. I understand that sometimes you need to buy parts, but if there is a way without, I would like to know.

Otherwise you’ll have to spend some money on spark plugs, distributor cap, rotor, spark plug wires, oil filters etc.
