Q: Is the 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse good in the snow?
I am planning on buying a 2007 (or ‘08 when it comes out) Mitsubishi Eclipse. On the older ones, people had to put bricks or sand in the trunk during the snow and ice. Is this still a problem?
A: okay i have lived in Colorado (currently) Missouri, Michigan, and South Dakota, all of which have some pretty horrid winters, i have never owned a 4×4 or an all wheel drive and have never really had a problem, secondly i own a 2003 eclipse and never have a problem in the snow, in fact it is one of the best snow cars i have ever owned. third the new Mitsubishi eclipses have an option of traction control, that coupled with being a careful driver in the snow and they are a good snow car, i used to work at a Mitsubishi dealership and test drove many eclipses in the snow and never really had a problem, in fact mitsubishi mounts their motors in such a way as to put 70% of the weight in the front of the car directly over the front tires which are the drive wheels. that with traction control, and many of the other safety features that are in the eclipses make them a force to be reconned with in the snow.
Q: Would a 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse be a good first car?
My father has put us on a budget of 5,000 dollars or less. He was looking at a site and found an Acura that we both liked, but was already sold. I’ve been looking around that site as well and found a 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse for around 3,000 dollars. I’ve driven a Mazda before and a Scion, but I wanted one of my own cars. Would you recommend? I really like it. I will talk to my father about the car tomorrow.
A: my brother had a 1999 mitsubishi eclipse in white. and it was a great car. he only sold it because he needed a truck but he had it for about 2-3 yrs. but i would def. test drive it and make sure it runs well.
my dad put me on a 5000 budget for my first car and said it was a 2 yr car and then he would buy me a new one.
i ended up with a 2001 saturn sl2. with 104,000 miles but it runs great. it is a good little car.
Q: How hard is it to replace the engine mount and transmission mount on a 2000 mitsubishi eclipse ?
2000 mitsubishi eclipse gt V6 3.0l. It looks easy but is it really that easy to replace or is it a pain in the ass like everything else on the car? Is it recommended to replace all 4 vehicle mounts?
A: I don’t think it’s gonna be that hard really. Even if you’re going to replace all mounts. You just have to replace them one by one using a jack lift. Actually, I just had mine replaced. What I did is jacked up the engine at the suggested mounting points in a way that the first mount I’m getting out lifts up. They’re actually just bolt on so it’s easy to remove/install new mounts. Don’t remove all at once as you might need to lift up the entire engine/tranny assembly.
Q: How can I make my 99 Mitsubishi Eclipse RS Faster?
I have a automatic 99 Mitsubishi Eclipse RS. I want it to accelerate faster, drive smoother, and drive faster. I need to know what I can do before spending money and what to spend money on, who can do it, and how much it would cost. Also, my headlights look foggy behind the plastic, will polish fix it or do i need to clean the inside?
Unfortunately its a 2.0 L, Upgrading the Engine an Idea?
A: id do a 4g63t swap from the gst….and get new after market headlights…or you could just buff it out with some rubbing compound….or probably just sell it and get a eclipse gst or gsx…..
Q: Does anyone know how to use the ipod adapter on a 08 mitsubishi eclipse?
I recently got a 2008 mitsubishi eclipse. The car came with the ipod adapter cord installed. When I plug in my ipod it recognizes it. But I can’t figure out how to get the music to play out of my speakers. I tried hitting just about every button. Anyone know? My manual says nothing.
A: Did you setting the ipod’s volume to half.
Q: How can I tell if my Mitsubishi Eclipse is a GS or a GS-T model?
I’ve got a 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS (T?) and I’ve been curious about if it’s the turbo model or not. There’s apparently three different engine styles, 2.0L, 2.4L, and 2.0L Turbo. My engine is 2.0L.
What are some things I can look for specifically on the engine to tell if the car is a turbo model? Where is the turbo located and what exactly does it look like?
A: Lol!!! Lauren G is quite confused with her information. You cannot depend on the exterior looks because it maybe modified by the previous owner, if you got it used. Stickers? Nah! They might have been taken out during it’s existence.
Okay, first info you must know. You have a 2.0L engine ‘coz they only come with that in coupe. The Spyder comes with either a 2.4L or a 2.0L turbo. To know whether it’s a turbo or not, look for the pulleys and belts. If they’re on the left hand side (when you’re looking at the engine bay), it’s a non-turbo. If they’re on the right hand side, chances are you have a turbo. The bulge on the hood of the car has a function in the turbo Eclipse. It’s there to house the protruding pulleys when the hood is closed. If your car has a turbo, look for the turbo close to the exhaust manifold. It looks like a small curled up trumpet or a big metal snailshell. The intercooler on those Eclipses are tiny. It’s somewhere right in front of the front wheelwells. I think it’s on the left side. It’s almost as big as 2 bricks put together. You hear no blow-off valves hissing when it comes stock. (Lol Lauren G!!!). All the information I gave you is stock specs.
Q: What is the easiest way to get old gas out of a 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse tank?
i am trying to get out the old gas in my mitsubishi eclipse by siphoning it out, but it seems like the tube doesnt want to go all the way down and go into the tank. what could be the problem? is there an easier way to get out the gas? i looked for a plug on the tank but i couldnt see one. is there a cover over the tank to protect it, and could the plug be under the cover?
i just want to find out the easiest way to get out the old gas, so if anyone knows please let me know
A: should have a fuel rail on your motor by the injector it`s run on top of your motor with a screw on cap you need a special hose to tap on it and have motor running they use this port to check fuel pressure
Q: How and Where Can i unlock the Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX on Need for Speed Carbon?
I really want to unlock the mitsubishi eclipse GSX but i don’t know how can some one please help me out .
A: 4 wat system
Q: What is your experience with a 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse?
I’m wanting to buy a 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse RS or GT but people keep telling they take alot of money to maintain it. Whats your experience with them?
A: Nice clean little sporty cars. The RS an GS are relatively slower in comparison to the GT an GT-S. If you just need something for daily driving than those are the best options.. if you would like a little more speed behind the wheel, the GT or GT-S, which is the V6 engine an comes with the most options in the car. All the models do alright on gas and as for maintaining.. parts an labor pricing is typical but nothing over the top. Shop around before settling for a specific one, since they are common, you should be able to find one with low miles at a great price and no issues.
Q: How much does it cost to pay a whole 1995 mitsubishi eclipse a Decent Black?
Ok so ima purchase a 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse. How much would it cost to fully paint my eclipse? A Decent Job to. For example this eclipse rite here. http://img368.imageshack.us/i/10113483tf6.jpg/
A: When the manufacture paints one black they go Thur hundreds of cars before they find one good enough to paint black. They just don’t look at them they run their hands all over the body. All the rest of the cars get painted a different color. the worse ones get painted white. So I would say that it would cost you around $3,000 to get a fair job.
Q: Where do I put the power steering fluid in my 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse?
I have a Mitsubishi Eclipse non-turbo 2.0 liter, and it needs power steering fluid. Do i put it into the same reservior that I pull the steering fluid gauge out of? Thanks!
A: yes the same resorvoir that has they gauging cap it should say “PS Fluid” or “POWERSTEERING” TAKE NOTE TO WHAT FLUID YOU ARE PUTTING IN OR ADDING BECAUSE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT.
SOME POWER STEERING SYSTEMS USE “ATF DEX III” WHICH IS AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID DEXTRON #3, SOME USE MERCON, SOME USE SPECIALTY MANUFACTURER ONLY FLUID(EX.: HONDA uses GENUINE HONDA PS FLUID) HOWEVER IN SOME CARS THERE IS NEUTRAL FLUID ADDITIVE THAT USUALLY CAN BE ADDED TO MOST OF FLUIDS.(ex.: NOISE STOPPER or LEAK STOPPER or CONDITIONER)
on the cap where there is a gauge or dipstick like piece should have the RECOMMENDED FLUID TYPE AND A HOT/FULL LEVEL AND A COLD/LOW LEVEL. YOU SHOULD CHECK IT ON LEVEL GROUND WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING AND SHOULD BE WARM. IF WHEN YOU CHECK IT IT ISNT ON THE HOT/FULL MARK THEN YOU NEED ADD TO IT. PROPER PROCEDURE TO CHECKING & FILLING IS:
* HAVE ENGINE RUNNING AND WARMED UP TO USUAL TEMPERATURE(USUALLY GOOD AFTER ENGINE WAS ON FOR 15MIN)
** WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING AND VEHICLE PARKED TURN THE WHEELS (AS YOU WOULD IF DRIVING) FROM LOCK TO LOCK OR ALL THE WAY LEFT AND THEN ALL THE WAY RIGHT SEVERAL TIMES. THIS ENSURES THAT THE FLUID HAS CIRCULATED THROUGH OUT THE SYSTEM. ACCURATELY ACHEIVES FLUID LEVEL.
*** RETURN THE STEERING TO ITS CENTER POSITION AND CHECK YOUR POWERSTEERING GAUGE CAP AND SEE WHERE THE FLUID IS AT. DO NOT OVER FILL OR CONTAMINATE!!
BE CAREFULL OF MOVING PARTS!! SOME MODELS YOU MAY CHECK WITH ENGINE OFF AS LONG AS IT WAS ON AND WARMED UP. SEE YOUR OWNERS MANUAL FOR SPECIFIC DETAIL.
I SEND A PIC. SO NO MIX UPS.

Q: How do i program my garage door opener on my 1997 mitsubishi eclipse?
How do i program the garage door opener on my car. I do not have the owner’s manual and i do not know how to find it on the internet. I have a 1997 mitsubishi eclipse GS and i have been trying to figure it out for a while and nothing. Do I need a certain brand garage or something? somebody please help me thank you.
A: spanky24, Eclipses did come with garage door openers, sorry u got the crappy model. 1. hold down the two outside buttons until the red light starts to flash(20 to 30sec) then release. Hold the end of your original opener against the transmitter on your visor, keeping the red light within view. Using both hands push the hand held transmitter button, and the desired button to be trained, and do not release until the red light flashes(slowly then faster) When light flashes faster then both buttons can be released. Only hold the outer two buttons to erase all codes. If you want to program the other two buttons do the same thing except for holding down two outer buttons. If you can not get it call customer service @ 1-800-355-3515—–NOT trying to make enemies, I just hate it when people answer questions and they don’t know what they are talking about.
Q: Does anyone know where to find ventvisors 1998 mitsubishi eclipse?
I am looking for the rain/wind deflectors you put above your windows. They are called ventvisors, vent shades, window shades, etc, but they are just black tinted plastic pieces that let you crack open a window without getting wet. I can find them on almost any vehicle, EXCEPT a mitsubishi eclipse. Anyone?
A: I have checked all the major manufacturers – Auto Ventshade, Weathertech, GT Styling, Stampede, Deflecta-shield, EGR, Wade and Westin. None of them made a 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse side window deflector. For that matter, none of them made a Mitsubishi Eclipse side window deflectors for any model year.
Q: How much do you have to pay up front to lease a 07/08 Mitsubishi Eclipse?
I have to save for a a 07/08 Mitsubishi Eclipse I am getting it in the fall and I was wondering about how much would I have to pay up front to lease it?
I live in US.
A: Honestly……. Nothing. If you have good enough credit and or a trade in. You never really have to put anything down. Putting money down is just to help reduce the over all amount of interest that is on the account. Because if you put 5000 down and the car costs around 23000 then you only have to pay interest on 18,000 so you save in more in the long run. But most automobile companies and businesses that sell the automobiles are hurting so badly because of gas. That now they dont demand a percentage down, they just want you to buy a car.
Q: Can anyone help me get a code to reset the radio in my 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse?
So, I have a 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse and my battery died. After replacing it i need a code to reset my radio. I’ve been told it could cost up to $100 to get this code from the dealership. The serial # is 9Z235028A and the MR # is 337271. Can anyone please help? Thanks!
A: Don’t bother trying to find a dealer that won’t charge you for this.
Instead, call 1-888-MITSU2005. That’s the number to mitsubishi north america. Someone I know recently called to get their radio code because their battery had to be replaced. They simply asked to speak to someone that could help with their code. The lady on the line never transferred them. She just asked for the vin and serial number from the radio and then looked up the radio code. Just be nice and say your battery died.
There was no charge to provide this radio code unlike what alot of dealers do.
