A: Are you trying to replace a knock sensor? If so, you just unplug, unscrew, and screw the new one in and plug it back up.

If your engine don’t have knock sensors and you are trying to install some, you can’t.

I have a 2000 toyota celica GTS and I wanna drop it around 2 inches but have no idea what i need! the kits online are around 200 and there springs and struts is that all i need?

A: Yeah pretty much.

But you get what you pay for.

A $200 kit is only going to be lowering springs and poor quality ones at that. They will have poor ride quality and you will be bouncing all over the place.

But it will get you lower lol.

Q: What is the part that provides airflow to the engine on a Toyota Celica GTS 1990?
There is a jimmy-rigged air flow for the engine of my 1990 Toyota Celica GTS. I would like to order the correct parts, but can’t find a parts diagram on the web so I can figure out the right part to order. It’s on the right hand side, going from the engine to the right front of the frame. The connection near the frame is rounded rectangular. I believe the connection to the engine is round, about 5″ diameter. Do you know what the part(s) are that I need to order?
It is a 2.2L engine. The part is the air flow/cold air intake. The current system looks like 5″ x 6″ plumbing fittings linked together. The filter on the end looks like the standard filter.

Can it be cleaned?
Also, is the Mass Airflow Sensor part of this system?

A: If you call to place the order, you can simply give them the make, model, year, and engine size and the description as you listed it here. With this information, they will know exactly what you are referring to.

It is a bit hard to answer this without knowing the engine size. One reason is because the air filter assembly on some foreign cars house the Mass Airflow Sensor. Yours may or may not.

Let the parts dealer tell you because these sensors can be quite expensive. No use wasting money on one based on someone’s incorrect answer here when you do not need it.

Q: Is the fuel pump in the gas tank on a 1990 toyota celica gts?
I have to replace the fuel tank on my 90 celica gts but i want to know if the pump is in the tank because that will contribute to cost. Anyone know?

A: If the engine is fuel injected as I believe it is, the fuel pump is in the gas tank.

Q: How much to install a turbo on a 2000 Toyota Celica GTS?
Kinda just a rough ballpark for my own information if anyone could help. Probably a huge range of prices for such a cheap car but i just want to get a general idea

A: the cheapest kit is about 3000 from turbokits.com. the better kit is from monkeywrenchracing.com but thats about 4500 with out fuel system upgrades or ecu upgrades. those are just for the kits if you can install it you will save a few hundred bucks. then u will need to get it tuned a shop close to me charges about 100 bucks a hour to do tuning. your probably looking at 5000 plus when all is done.

Q: PCV or positive crankcase ventilation on a 1986 toyota celica GTS?
I cant find where the PCV is on my car could anyone tell me or better yet show me a photo please it needs to be replaced.

A: IT should b next 2 the distributor on a hose running Vertical next 2 the engine block, its the same color as the hose & in inline with the hose so it looks like a connector of 2 hose instead of a pcv. That would b the drivers side. Front side of the Distributor.

Q: When i try to accelerate on my Toyota Celica gts the rpm drops as if it wants to die.?
I know it is not a clutch/transmission problem because it happens even with the car not in gear. So basically when i press the gas to slightly rev up the engine, the rpm drops below 1k and the car shakes as if its about to die then eventually accelerates but sluggish.

What could be causing this? Is something clogged? Fuel pump? Catalytic Converter?

A: Sounds like the timing on the computer, could be a clogged fuel line or a hole in the transmission.

Q: How can i make my 2001 toyota celica GTS look even better than it does factory? ?
I want to put a lot of upgrades on it such as lambo doors, blacklights replacing my lights inside my car, glowing pedals and gauges, lowering springs, and neon lights under my car. I need help on other ideas to go along with what I am contemplating putting on my car.

I’d recommend sprucing up that 2ZZ-GE before the body, but here’s some suggestions:

Carbon Hood, Carbon Spoiler, Carbon lip kit, Racing Wheels, Wheel arches, JDM Carbon Mirrors.
