Q: Is the SMG Transmission of BMW same as the new M Double Clutch Transmission with Drivelogic in the E92 M3?
Since the M6 and M5 both have 7-speed SMGs, does the new BMW M3 have it in another name – M Double Clutch Transmission with Drivelogic? (aside from the manual transmission, of course).

A: The transmission in the new M3 is called M DCT (Dual clutch transmission) It is a form of of direct shift gearbox (DSG) just now has better technology and dual clutch.

Q: What determines the redline in the new BMW M3/M5/M6?
I have noticed that in every car model (M3, M5, M6) the redline is either at around 8400 like BMW always rags about, but then other times the redline is around 6500-7000. Anyone know what it is the causes the change?

A: Actually it’s not that different. The 2007-spec M5 and M6 share the 5L 500hp V10 so the redline on both of those is 8250rpm. But the M3 has a 4L 420hp V8 with a redline of 8400rpm.

Q: Would you guys rather have a new Corvette Z06 or new BMW M3 Coupe?
Whats faster, hotter, turns more heads? Z06 or the M3? Feedback appreciated!

A: Z06 id probably go for but then again i couldnt turn down an M3 if offered lol

Q: In five years,how much will the the new BMW M3 08 cost?
Since im thirteen and i want a M3 when im 18 and i was just wondering.

A: Since in 2012, it’ll be a used car, it’s all going to depend on if BMW has any major recalls on the vehicle after it comes out, what kind of condition the car is in, how many miles are on it, and what the market is like for those cars. So, this early, tis’ really hard to tell. But, I would probably say about 30% less than the MSRP.

Q: Why do most people compare the New BMW M3 to the Audi RS4 when the Audi is a 4 dr Saloon?
Shouldn’t they be comparing it to comething like a Mercedes CLK63 AMG Coupe

A: they are in the same price class they are the same size and are really direct competitors. I believe BMW will be releasing a 4 door M3 as well and Audi may be coming out with an RS5 coupe .

Q: Chicks, what color should I pick for my new BMW M3?
I like the black metallic and the blue metallic, and the interior I want in Fox Red. What color do you girls find the most sexy on that(or any) car?

A: Get it in white with the red leather interior, that would turn a straight man gay.

Q: Which to get, used 2008 BMW M3, or new 2009 Audi S5?
I know one is faster than the other of course, but is getting a used M3 especially, might not have warranty, and so on, but prices should be almost identical. OR would you get a New BMW 335i???

A: I would get the 2008 BMW M3, maybe just because I’m a BMW fan, but another reason why I would pick this car is because of the new V8 motor in it which produces a 414 hP with 425 pounds of torque. The handling is just beautiful, the suspension is the best, and style is just breathtaking.

So please do you and me a favor and buy the BMW M3. :]

A: the new 2008 M3 will be released next February or March..

Q: Does the new BMW M3 engine suffer the same VANOS problems as the older models?
For that matter do any other engines fitted to 3 series suffer? The Alpinas?

A: No the new Vanos systems have been vary good. Even the older ones work well when taken car of and the proper oil was used.

Is this your dream car? I would like to own one someday. And what color looks best. I say white or black.

A: The new M3 is magnificent. The new engine works perfectly, everything does, to be honest, except there’s this controversy about the DSC, if I’m not mistaken, and that really let it down. The looks are that of a monster that’s gonna eat me or something, and the mere fact that this is already much stronger than the old one, has a higher displacement than the old one, has 2 more cylinders than the old one, already sends shivers up my spines. If you do want one, I suggest you get one now. You don’t really know what you’re missing.

Q: How do you think the new 2008 BMW M3 will go against upcoming competition?
I saw the m3 video on insideline and I love the exhast note. How do you think it compares with the Audi RS4, Mercedes C63 AMG, and the upcoming Lexus IS-F? For around $60,000, would you rather get a different car?

A: Hey, the RS4 has a mean exhaust note too. The M3 and RS4 offer the same performance (0-60 in 4.8 s), while the IS-F, according to the website for lexus, does 0-60 in 4.9. The Mercedes is around there as well. The RS4 is probably your best choice for a daily driver, with the performance of the M3 and the space of a sedan, not to mention Audi’s excellent Quattro AWD system. However, the Lexus is by far the most dependable luxury car brand out there. Mercedes screams mid-life crisis. The M3 probably has the best looks, but may not be the best choice for an only car. If it were up to me, I would pick the RS4
