Q: Can I change an 89 Honda Accord Power Steering Pump Myself?
I’m not a mechanic, but I’m mechanically inclined. Can a non-mechanic, with basic tools change a power steering pump in an 89 Honda Accord? Has anyone done it and if so any pointers?
Thanks for the response! The part that worries me a little is getting the belts tensioned correctly. Any tricks or special tools required?
A: yes it is vairy easy power steering up is located on right hand side of engine at the top just loosen off tensioner undo two power steering hoses and fit new pump when fitting new pump it would also be a good idea to check for cracks in pwer steering pump belt when tightening belt just make sure the adjuser is done up enough that it takes the slack out of the belt and when you put the vehicle in full lock it does not squeel
Q: How much should a 2005 honda accord coupe lx fully loaded with a salvage title, but rebuilt by my friend cost?
A family friend wants to sell his 2005 honda accord v6 coupe lx for $9000 to me, fully loaded. It is a salvage car but his dad had rebuilt it and I’ve ridden in it plenty and it runs fine. The collision was from the back and has been repaired but I am unsure if $9000 is a good price since it was a salvage. it has 59,000 miles.
A: Salvage title means nothing. The important thing is that the car was properly rebuilt. If you are convinced that there is nothing wrong with the car and you know the car, pay what it is worth to you. Make sure to get a wheel alignment and that there is no problems that will haunt you down through the years of owning it. NADA book on this car is $14,900 so I would say that $9,000 is more than fair even though the vehicle may have been salvaged and rebuilt, especially if it was rear-ended. If you were to buy the car and then total it, this is the price that you could expect your insurance company to pay you for the car.
I just bought a rebuilt 1996 Accord LX Wagon with stick shift and 42,296 original miles [confirmed with an Auto Check report] & absolutely no rust. I paid $5,300 which included a new timing belt. For that price I may have been able to purchase the same vehicle with a clean title. But this is a rare car [the last year the Accord wagon was sold in the States was 1997] and to find one with stick shift and only 42,296 miles makes it even more rare. I had to have it so I was willing to pay the price. I am convinced it will easily last me 10 to 15 years which is only a cost of $500 a year at most if it was to be fully depreciated at the end of 10 years.
In the end you have to decide what it is worth to you. Personally, I prefer the 4 cylinder to the 6. Less costly for maintenance and the vtec engine is more than adequate, but of course it is just my personal preference.
By the way, if the car is being driven on the road and is registered it should have a rebuilt title and not a salvage title.
Q: Should I take up Honda Certification for a 2005 Accord in good condition?
I am considering buying a used 2005 Honda Accord from a reputable Honda dealer. A number of my friends have bought their cars from that dealer and have good comments.
The car is 2 years and 3 months old, and based on the CARFAX report, it does not have any problem. The mileage of the car is about 20k, and it previously has only one owner.
The car is currently not certified and the dealer has told me that if I want it to be certified, it would cost roughly another $800.
Base on my limited understanding of Honda Certification, it basically buys me one more year of warranty, and a better peace of mind to start with.
Do you think the certification will be worth it?
I am inexperience with cars and this is the first time I am buying a car. Our main purpose of getting the car is to do our shopping errands and for occasional short trips. If this Accord is in good condition but still need repairs within the first year, do you think the repairs can easily cost more than $800?
A: if you think it willl it give you peace of mind then do it but in my opion hondas out last the warrenty anyway so it is a wast of money to take the certificate.
Q: How hard is it to replace a radiator in a ‘94 Honda Accord?
I need to replace the radiator in my Honda accord and am wondering if I should maybe have it done instead… Just don’t know what I am getting into and looking for some help :
Thanks!
A: i have a 95 accord (same car) and i had to replace my rad last year. i couldn’t decide if i should take it somewhere and spend a arm and leg or do it myself. i did it myself…it took some time (most of an afternoon about 5 hours or so) be cause i didn’t know what i was doing. before i tackled this job though, i went to autozone and bought a haynes manual for my car. it has been THE most helpful tool i have ever bought. tells you how to do every single repair you can imagine to this car. step by step, with pics. that helped a lot…
the job itself isn’t too hard. just make sure you plug up the transmission coolant lines real good because they leak out fluid when you disconnect them from the bottom of the radiator (there are two) also while you have the radiator out check your coolant hoses if they feel smushy and weak, go ahead and replace them while it’s all taken apart because they deteriorate over time and they can get leaks in them. my upper hose did about a month ago.
oh yeah, the only really hard part is getting the fans to fit back into the engine bay behind the radiator. that took me forever because it is just so tight it’s really hard to fit it in there.
remember to bleed you coolant system after you fill it with coolant. the the car get hot so the thermostat opens and then open up the bleeder valve (looks kinda like a little nipple) on the top of the thermostat housing. connect a small hose and make sure the coolant coming from the valve is constant and make sure there are no air bubbles You have to work those bubbles out by bleeding it, or else the coolant may not flow properly and your car will overheat. That crap happened to me after working on it for like 5 hours it still overheated. I was mad haha but at least it was an easy (FREE) fix…
Good luck and have fun! =]
Q: How could i hook up an extra turn signal to my 1992 Honda accord?
I bought new side mirrors that featured a turn signal light for my 1992 Honda Accord and my original side mirrors did not have a light.. how could I hook up the new turn signals? Is it even possible?
A: the easyest way would be run the wire to the front turn signal and splice into the + wire. you can hook it up under the dash but there are alot of wires there. if you don’t know what you are doing you can mess it up.
Q: Does anyone’s honda accord with subwoofers give off a loud bass noise when you turn off your stock radio?
i have a 02′ honda accord v6 and i recently just got my subwoofers installed…..whenever i turn off my radio the subs bass gets louder and louder for no reason? is this something that happens to all honda’s?
A: U Might Have 2 Get A New Headunit Or Try 2 Rewire It.
Q: What is a reasonable quote to replace a transaxle seal on a Honda Accord?
I own a 1996 Honda Accord. I noticed a decent sized puddle appearing to be transmission fluid near my right front tire. I assume that its coming from the half-shaft.
A: assuming it is the output shaft seal (the seal where the axle goes into the tranny) my friend runs a shop and he charges 50 labor plus the seal and oil — around $65 total
Q: How can I change users for the Bluetooth feature on a 2008 Honda Accord Sedan?
I have two users set up with the hands free bluetooth in my 2008 Honda Accord Sedan. Currently it is set up so that I am the user. How can my husband switch to user #2 when my he drives my car? I can’t find my car manual. Thanks!
A: check page 240 of your owners manual
Basically you have to make sure both of the phones are paired to Bluetooth, then find out which one is currently paired and if its not the one you want linked then you need to change the pairing. Here’s the instructions from the owners manual
To list all paired phones, do this:
1. Press and release the Talk button.
After the beep, say ‘‘Phone setup.’’
The HFL response is ‘‘Phone
setup options are status, pair, edit,
delete, and list.’’
2. Press and release the Talk button.
After the beep, say ‘‘List.’’ The
HFL responds by listing the name
of each paired phone. When allphones paired to the system have
been read, the HFL response is
‘‘The entire list has been read.
Returning to the main menu.’’
To find out the status of the phone being
used, do this:
1. Press and release the Talk button.
After the beep, say ‘‘Phone setup.’’
The HFL response is, ‘‘Phone
setup options are status, pair, edit,
delete, and list.’’
2. Press and release the Talk button.
After the beep, say ‘‘Status.’’ An
example of the HFL response is,
‘‘Eric’s phone is linked. Battery
strength is three bars. Signal
strength is five bars, and the
phone is roaming. Returning to the
main menu.’’
To change from the currently linked
phone to another paired phone, do this
1. Press and release the Talk button.
After the beep, say ‘‘Next phone.’’
The HFL response is ‘‘Searching
for the next phone.’’ The HFL
then disconnects the linked phone
and searches for another paired
phone. If the HFL finds it, an
example of the HFL response is,
‘‘Paul’s phone is linked.’’ If no
other phones are found, the first
phone remains linked.

Q: How much should it cost to fix vtec sensor malfunction in 1999 honda accord?
I have a 99 honda accord coupe 4 cylinder and i was told that code p1259=vtec sensor malfunction shows up on car diagnsis. given a price of 600.00 to fix, is this good?
A: check your oil level. almost every time that code shows up its because the oil in the car is low!
the VTEC is engaged by oil pressure. if you’re low on oil the oil pressure is low and VTEC won’t engage.
by my guess, you’re at least 2-3 quarts low. At $3.50 per quart it would cost about $7.00-$10.00 to fix your car. or pay the $15 and change your oil and filter.
If I’m wrong it only cost you the time to check your dipstick.
hope that helps

Q: How do I find out what size of rims would go on Honda accord?
I have a 2003 Honda Accord with factory rims. However, I would like to upgrade to a better looking set of rims. The factory rims are 15’s, but I’ve heard you can put bigger rims on depending on the depth of the tire rubber. Any ideas on what works?
A: I have an ‘03 Accord EX with 18″ rims on it. It fits up to 19’s, but it’s tight. The 18’s are bumpier with really low profile tires (225/40/18 – this is what I have) You could get a 5 % thicker profile tire for a less bumpy ride, but it doesn’t look that good. 17’s are a perfect balance of looks and perfomance, they give you near stock ride quality and better traction from a wider tire. My 18’s are 8 inches wide, and stick out 1/2″ in the front and 1/4″ in the rear. 7.5″ wide rims won’t stick out, but 7″ are what you should strive for. Hope this helps, if you have any other questions, don’t hesitate to email me!
Q: How do I install a new after market radio in my 1998 Honda Accord?
I used to have an old Kenwood radio in my 1998 Honda Accord. It finally died and I just bought a new one. Obviously, the plugs aren’t the same. The new one came with the plug and all the wires, but I have no idea how to wire the new one in. None of the wires are labeled. Any help would be appreciated.
Yes, it is factory. I bought the radio from Best Buy and they said they didn’t have one.
A: go to a place like best-buy, and ask for a wiring harness for your car assuming the factory one is still there, then you plug the one from best-buy into your car, match the colours to your new radios wiring harness (or on the back of the one that you bought it will tell you what wire goes with what) and plug it into your near radio, then install it into your dash, and your off.
Q: How much replacing an oil pan on a 91 Honda Accord cost?
I have a 91 Honda Accord station wagon. It has only 102,000 miles. Overall, it runs well. But, I think I need to replace the oil pan. How much do you think it should cost for parts and labor?
A: The book time for labor is 2 hours. The total price for parts and labor at a shop is 250-500 depending on the experience and honesty of the shop doing the repairs and the quality of the parts being used. Good luck and hope this helps.
Q: Can anyone please help me find pictures for a honda accord coupe 2001?
I rather it black but not a must! Please links to websites..
I already googled it but it gave me pics of a Honda Accord EX V6 Coupe and I want a honda accord coupe 2001, I dont know if its the same as a EX or not
One more thing! Does the honda sit low? Like when you sit in it are you sitting low or are sitting up high?
A: The coupe body style changed in 2003, so any coupe picture prior to that point would fit the bill. If you are used to a minivan or a SUV than the seating would feel low, otherwise it feels no lower than any other car. I included a link showing two coupes side by side, with one that is black.
Q: Where can you buy a 2010 Honda Accord coupe emblem plain silver or hot pink?
I have a honda accord coupe. I want to customize it with colored emblem. I cant find any on the internet. I dont have an ebay account.
A: Go to Amazon, you can get anything what you want:

Q: what does a 2003 or newer honda accord coupe go for at an auction?
I am going to be heading to an auction in Charlotte, NC in the next week or so and I am trying to get a idea of what cars go for there. I am looking to spend around $5200 and would really like a 2003 or newer honda accord coupe. What does this car typically go for and any good tips??
A: check the NADA guide (North American Dealers Association) at
http://www.nadaguides.com/Cars/2003/Honda/Accord-4-Cyl-/Coupe-2D-LX/Standard-Equipment
the “trade-in” value is the ‘wholesale book value’ for the car.
the price will depend on what model you’re looking at. A 2003 Accord LX model will be about $5100; the EX is about $5400; the V-6, NAVI and leather models will be higher.
price is a function of availability, number of buyers and sellers, and geographic location. You’re in the ballpark for pricing on the 2003.
